At Hammock, we take our work seriously. We also are serious about our hammocks. A high-quality hammock is our going-away gift for our colleagues whom we have worked with for a long time.

While our company is named for our founder and CEO, Rex Hammock, we have long had an affinity for the symbol of relaxation, and the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed the suggestion of a hammock in our logo.

Wednesday, July 22, was National Hammock Day—a great reminder that we all need to get off the grid from time to time, recharge our batteries and reconnect with ourselves to inspire fresh thinking and new ideas. Rest is also a critical component of mental health.

For healthcare workers during a pandemic, there is very little rest. No one needs a nap more right now than the men and women providing essential care—those people who are giving all of their time, talent and training to help those affected by this crisis.

National Hammock Day sparked an idea at Hammock Inc. We bet many of you know someone special working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’d like to hear from you. Please email our editorial team at [email protected] by August 14 and tell us about someone you know who deserves a hammock—and why. We want to hear their story, and we will select three deserving people to receive a hammock.

As healthcare marketers, we aren’t on the front lines of care, but we want to support those who choose to be there every day. What better support than being able to relax on a hammock between two trees? So please reach out to us. Together, let’s give a small token of appreciation to recognize and honor our healthcare heroes!
